Winter Cocoons

Big developments happening over here. I have a brand new series that I’m developing—it’s romantic, fantastical, and epic. The story is set in an entirely new world, and it’s a Fae enemies-to-lovers romance with some truly delicious plot twists. Basically, I’m in absolute love with it, and it’s really hard to keep my mouth shut while it’s in development. Release is expected for Summer 2022. Stay tuned, and I’ll say more as we get closer—trust me, you’ll want to know when ARCs are available.

That’s the big book update from me! I’ll also be in a different cocoon this season, the surgery type. I have a genetic defect that puts me at high risk of breast cancer, and I’ve decided to go forward with a preventative mastectomy. All healing thoughts are greatly appreciated.

So that’s me, wrapped in a cocoon of bodily healing and writing.

I know the world is really messy right now, so please do your best to take care of yourselves, okay? Even if your best feels small, it’s enough. I believe in your ability to keep fighting another day. Even when it’s impossible to see, hope is always there.

With all my love,
Mel

The Becoming Alice trilogy is now available as a 3-in-1 edition with this shiny cover art I’m absolutely obsessed with. Want to try and win a digital copy? [Click here] to enter the Goodreads giveaway, open until Jan 20th. Otherwise, be sure to check out Becoming Alice in [ebook] [paperback] and [hardcover].

After June 2022, the original versions of A Bigfoot’s Gift, A Bigfoot’s Quest, and A Bigfoot’s Destiny will be ebook only. That’s right, these editions will be going out of print. This is the final step in separating the Mel Blooms and Mel Braxton pennames. After June 2022, the only way to have a print version of the series will be the 3-in-1 edition, so if you want a copy of the original prints, click to order [A Bigfoot’s Gift] [A Bigfoot’s Quest] or [A Bigfoot’s Destiny]

Wing Builder’s Release

I’m thrilled to finally be sharing Wing Builder with the world!

Honestly, releases aren’t that easy for me. I am tense with nervous excitement as I watch reviews and sales. Indie authoring has been quite an adventure, and the challenges it sends my way always force me to grow. This newest phase is no exception.

Trust, trust, trust, the story goes. And it’s a lesson that I absolutely need to internalize as I navigate these release insecurities. Trust in the story and my strength to grow from whatever happens next. Maybe we can all learn to trust ourselves a little bit better.

So thank you for taking an interest in my work. You, my dear readers, are the ones who make me an author, and for that, I’ll be counting my blessing forever.

All my best,
Mel Braxton

Wing Builder
He has his wings, she needs to build hers.

Wren knew she was weird, but she also believed she was human. When she learns she’s an heir to a House Banae… she also discovers someone wants her dead.

Ezal is cursed with the Blight, his gray wings making him ineligible to be Wren’s suitor. When he is assigned as Wren’s Protector, he welcomes the responsibility, eager to guard her at any cost.

To become Lady Banae, Wren must marry—and quickly! While white-winged bachelors line up to be Wren’s suitors, it’s Ezal who has captured her heart.

Together, Wren and Ezal navigate mysterious attacks and political maneuvers. As danger and death whirl around them, they must forge their own way forward or accept eternal separation.

Wing Builder is a new-adult romance set in a breathtaking sci-fantasy skyscape. Expect an aerial world torn by political agendas. This complete stand-alone story is a sweeter romance with steamier moments and includes a “happily ever after.” Wing Builder features a competition between suitors, beautiful dresses, and a woman stepping into her strength. There is also a cat.

A new year for new reads

Well, we made it—2020 is officially the past. And congratulations are clearly in order! (Seriously.)

In other news, Wing Builder is staying on pace, and I’m planning an April release. More details soon—including a cover reveal and preorders starting next month! So stay tuned!

For those who want to know a little more: I’m halfway through my big edit. This is the point where the story’s details rise into focus and the prose is shaped towards its ultimate form. Once this edit is complete, it’s only be a matter of running the manuscript back and forth with my editor and… voila, a new Mel Braxton book will be released!

(I wish it was as easy as writing that sentence.)

Anyhow, take care as the trials of 2021 begin, I can’t wait to return with more updates.
